The CPC Cocoa Story

Cocoa Processing Company PLC was established in 1965 by the Government of Ghana with the vision of processing High Quality cocoa products of international standards and to bring the health benefits of consuming cocoa to the final consumer.

The Company is located in the Heavy Industrial Area of Tema in Ghana near the Tema Port.  It is owned by the Government of Ghana through the Ghana Cocoa Board and is also listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

It is a company that processes cocoa beans into semi-finished products and manufactures finished products including cocoa beverages and confectionery products. It is well known for the two main brands of products that it produces over the years namely the Portem Brand and the GoldenTree Brand.

The range of the Semi-Finished products of the company are produced under the Portem brand which includes the following:

·       Cocoa Liquor

·       Natural Cocoa Butter

·       Natural Cocoa Cake

·       Natural Cocoa Powder

The categories of confectionery cocoa products produced under the GoldenTree brand incudes:

·       Bar Chocolates [Milk, Dark, White, Premium and Seasonal chocolates]

·       Artisanal Chocolates

·       Chocolate Spreads

·       Sweetened Drinking Chocolates

·       Unsweetened Drinking Chocolates

·       Chocolate Dragees

·       Chocolate Couvertures

Sales:  We're pleased to announce a strong sales performance, driven by increased export figures to the West African region. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has paid off, with a notable rise in demand for our products.                                              

Research and Development: We continued to innovate, developing new products and customized recipes for contract manufacturing and partnerships. Our temperature-tolerant chocolate products remain a unique selling point.

 Clientele: Our continuously strengthened relationships with appointed distributors, large-scale retail outlets, specialized outlets, and agents. We've also expanded our customer base in West Africa, entering new markets in Togo Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Benin.

CSR: We remain committed to sourcing high-quality cocoa, empowering our local communities, and promoting holistic wellbeing of the nation. Our CSR initiatives have positively impacted the lives of cocoa lovers and their communities.

HSEQ: We've maintained our certifications in ISO 22000:2018, ISO 9001:2025, Halal, and Federation for Cocoa Commerce, UK. Our commitment to health, safety, environment, and quality remains unwavering.
